The Quaives, near Canterbury
In September 2024, I hosted a three-day retreat at The Quaives, a charming family farmstead nestled in the heart of the Kent countryside. With peaceful gardens, a beautiful studio, and comfortable accommodation, it offered the perfect space to step away from daily distractions and reconnect through movement, breath, and stillness.
Each morning began with calming meditation to centre the mind and gently ease into the day. Guests participated in two Pilates classes — one dynamic and energising, the other restorative — each designed to build strength, lengthen muscles, and increase body awareness. Between sessions, there was time to rest, read, walk in nature, or simply enjoy the calm rhythm of the day. The setting fostered a warm, supportive atmosphere, with guests quickly forming a close-knit group. Shared meals, laughter, and quiet reflection helped everyone settle fully into the experience.
By the end of the retreat, the change was clear — guests left recharged, more connected to their bodies, and grounded in a calm they could take home.
